Exploring the Imaginal: A Journey with Bernhard Reicher
An Invitation to join us on April 20th 3pm EST or Noon PST
Hello lovelies I would like to invite you to a very special live stream event coming up soon on Youtube!
It is…..Exploring the Imaginal: A Journey with Bernhard Reicher of Magieshule, (or Magic School in English). I think about half of you know what I am talking about looking at my stats, but if not here is a link to my interview with Bernhard …I must admit I am getting very excited : )
You see, in the realms of human consciousness, there exists a space beyond the tangible, a landscape where imagination dances freely and reality blends with the surreal. It is within this enigmatic terrain that Bernhard Reicher, the visionary behind MagieShule, invites us to embark on a journey—a journey into the imaginal.
The Exciting Event Ahead: A Glimpse into the Imaginal
Magical Egypt, under the guidance of Bernhard Reicher, is set to host an electrifying event that promises to delve deep into the mysteries of the imaginal. Attendees are in for an experience that transcends the ordinary and opens doors to the extraordinary.
Understanding the Imaginal: Where Reality and Imagination Converge
But what exactly is the imaginal? In essence, it is the realm of the psyche where images, dreams, symbols, and archetypes come alive. It is neither strictly real nor entirely imaginary but exists in the liminal space between the two—a realm of potent creativity and symbolic significance.
Jung, the Imaginal, and the Red Book: Unraveling the Mysteries
Central to the exploration of the imaginal is the work of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. Jung delved deep into the collective unconscious, exploring the archetypal symbols that populate the imaginal landscape. His magnum opus, the Red Book, serves as a testament to his encounters with the imaginal and the profound insights garnered from them.
The Practice of Magick in the Imaginal Realm
Within the imaginal, the boundaries of reality blur, and the possibilities become endless. It is here that the practice of magick finds fertile ground. Through ritual, visualization, and intention, practitioners can tap into the potent energies of the imaginal to manifest their desires, effect change, and explore the depths of their own psyche….a technique Bernhard has named Mythomagic.
The Inner Palace: Symbolism and Healing
The reason I am so excited is I have spent a fair amount of time looking into the Taoist idea of the Inner Palace! We touched upon it a little in Season Two with my interview with Gary Lachman, talking about the Hypnogogic State and I have been obsessed ever since. Becca Tarnas does a masterful job of explaining it in the Symposium as well, so if you have that look her up : )
In Taoist philosophy, the Inner Palace holds profound symbolism, representing the inner sanctuary of the self—a place of refuge, healing, and spiritual growth. Through practices such as qigong and meditation, Taoists journey inward to the palace of their own being, harnessing its transformative power to cultivate harmony and balance in their lives.
The Yuanquangong, or Inner Palace, potentially originates from a blend of esoteric Buddhist and Taoist ideologies dating back to the 5th century BC. These teachings describe what we might call the Akashic Records as a fusion of ancient concepts, including the numinous void and expansive sky.
Within Taoist canons, references to mysterious palaces accessible through altered states of consciousness are found. The Huangdi Neijing, a 3rd-century BCE text, mentions what we call the Akasha as a realm for spiritual healing. The Mystery Palace, mentioned in Zhuangzhi around 400-200 BC, is associated with hidden knowledge and is located in the void. In Taoism, it's termed Wuhe You, akin to an astral dreamworld. The Taishuanjing further discusses it as a place for Yin and Yang cultivation.
The Yuanchen Gong, or inner palace, is depicted as a timeless, evolving abode accessible through rare consciousness states and conceived as both internal and external. This inner sanctuary symbolizes one's karma and houses archives of personal knowledge, including a Book of Life and Death. It's akin to a virtual reality, comprising various symbolic areas like a kitchen, library, and personal altar. Through visualization meditation, one can purify karma, commune with spirits, or train in spiritual methods, and do magick with actions in the physical world.
